    In 2006, Christophe Decarnin awakened the sleeping beauty. He restored the brand´s former aura and launched new codes of a glamorous and sexy fashion. He focused on designer eveningwear, restoring Balmain´s elitist spice. He successfully encapsulated what he had inherited from Pierre Balmain and modernized the image. Each year he imposes must-have pieces such as leopard print, military jackets, ultra short skirts or bejewelled dresses. In March 2011, Olivier Rousteing took over as artistic head of Men´s and women´s collections. The young designer´s couture spirit is found in his careful attention to details and balanced by his very modern silhouettes.
